MODERN TREE CARE FOR PRESERVATION & PROFIT

Tuesday January 13, 2026

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

As we navigate the impacts of a changing climate, changing technologies, and an ever-changing economy, the significance of trees in the green industry only grows larger.

Whether your work focuses on maintaining that one beautiful Dogwood in your client’s backyard, or on maintaining the clearance from the transmission lines that keep our lights on, trees play a huge role in your business.

So, what’s your approach? Go for the short-term gains of the removal business to meet the big payments? Or play the long game of retaining clients and caring for trees from the cradle to the grave?

We’ll identify some of these challenges and opportunities, with a look ahead to the future, while focusing on sustainability for the trees–and for your checkbook.

Owner

Ingersoll Land Care

Tom grew up on a small apple orchard in Western Massachusetts. He worked in the family business through high school and college and after a few years working behind the scenes in the film industry, he returned home to take charge after his dad passed in 1993.

Today, Tom is a Massachusetts Certified Arborist, an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, a Connecticut Licensed Supervising Arborist, and a NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional.

He and his team at Ingersoll Land Care provide horticulture, landscape design-build, arboriculture and plant health care for a loyal and discerning client base in southern Berkshire County.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys volunteering, woodworking, cooking, playing sports and music, and geeking out in the garden or the forest with his arborist wife, Melissa.
