Pennsylvania adds eight counties to their Spotted Lanternfly quarantine zone.

The new eight counties are not completely infested, but rather have a few municipalities with a known infestation. Cambria, Cameron, Franklin, Lackawanna, Montour, Pike, Wayne, and Westmoreland are new to the quarantine for 2021Article and map of additions here. The NYS IPM SLF map has been updated with this change.

The NY/NJ Trail Conference is offering “Spot the Spotted Lanternfly” training March 13,17

In the workshop, you will learn how to identify and report SLF egg masses as well as learn some winter host tree ID tips: a great skill to develop even for our more experienced ISF surveyors! Following the training, you will receive a specific assignment to survey for spotted lanternflies surrounding a parking area and/or trailhead that is convenient to your home or near a trail you've been wanting to explore.
